ProMold Plastics Adds Two New Directors

Director of Manufacturing and Director of Quality Assurance focus on delivering customers the highest standard in quality.

(November, 2009, Portland CT…) ProMold Plastics, a contract manufacturer specializing in quality mold making and close tolerance injection molded components has expanded its staff with the appointment of two new Directors.

Joseph V. Garelli

Mr. Joseph V. Garelli is the company's new Director of Manufacturing. In this position he plans, directs and coordinates all the Manufacturing operations of the company. He oversees the daily operations and planning of all company resources. He also manages workflow and capacity planning and evaluates new opportunities. Mr. Garelli joins the company with extensive experience in project and plant management specifically within the plastics industry, using lean manufacturing principles to improve manufacturing processes. A graduate of Lowell Technological Institute with a degree in Plastics Engineering, Joe formerly held Operations Management positions at Rogers Corporation of Woodstock, CT., where he was the Manufacturing Manager and as a Plant Manger for both the Russell Stanley Corporation and Consolidated Container Company. In addition, he was an adjunct professor of Plastics for the State of Connecticut Community College system, presenting courses on Injection Molding, Product Design and Mold Design.

Regina M. Ruggiero

Ms. Regina M. Ruggiero, Ph.D. is the new Director of Quality Assurance and oversees the entire Quality Management System and Quality Control. Ms. Ruggiero manages all continuous improvement projects and oversees all quality issues to ensure the company meets or exceeds customer's expectations. She has spent almost 20 years in Quality Management roles within industrial settings, including 19 years in an FDA regulated environment that included the medial device and pharmaceutical industries. Most recently she held the position of Associate Director of Quality Assurance at Alexion Pharmaceuticals in Cheshire, CT.

In 2008 the company moved to a new location in Portland, CT that more than doubled the company's floor space to 43,000 sq foot building. The company is also working toward the ISO13485 Registration for Medical Device Standard.
